Explain an agreed rollback condition in English
A release lead gives you a rollback condition. A useful readback preserves every part that changes when the action starts.
The short answer
For this fictional agreed plan, say: “If the error rate stays above 2% for five consecutive minutes, we will start the agreed rollback.” Above means more than, and consecutive means without a break. The sentence states a conditional action, not a completed recovery.
Keep the condition exact; keep the outcome conditional.
A rollback attempts to return to an earlier version or state using the team’s procedure. In this example, two details belong together: the rate must be above 2%, and it must remain there for five consecutive minutes. Exactly 2% is not above 2%. A brief spike is not five continuous minutes. Use a present-tense condition after if and will plus the base verb for this future plan. “We will start” does not mean “we have completed.”

If leaves the trigger uncertain. Do not replace it with a statement that the rollback has already happened.

Common questions
A few useful details before you move on.
Does will mean the rollback is automatic?
No. It expresses the planned response here. Whether people or a configured system perform it depends on the actual procedure.
Should I use these numbers in a real plan?
No. They are fictional teaching values. Repeat the thresholds and timing your team has actually approved.
Take it into your day
Repeat the whole trigger, then describe the planned action as a plan.
