Supportive peer responses
Real-life situations

The planned weekly rhythm

Learn a skill. Use it. Build on it.

Clear examples and a focused speaking goal will guide each challenge. You will begin with the shared task, then apply the same skill to a situation that fits your life.

01

Learn and record

The General Challenge teaches one speaking skill. Prepare five questions, practice aloud, then record answers to three.

02

Choose and apply

Next, choose one of four Personalized situations. Use the same skill in another 5-to-3 recording.

03

Respond and improve

Share your recordings, respond to another learner, and choose one thing to improve. Feedback has a clear focus.

One skill, different situations.

For the “Answer more quickly” challenge, you could choose one of these after the General task.

  • Give a clear status update
  • Handle the opening interview questions
  • Join a new conversation
  • Plan a day out

A preview of the weekly practice

Answer more quickly.

Use your end-of-day routine to practice a clear opening. Start with a short answer, then add one useful detail.

Your speaking goalBegin each answer with a clear first sentence before you try to plan every word.

When your main responsibilities are finished, what do you usually do first?

“Most days, I make something simple to eat. After that, I usually go for a short walk or listen to a podcast.”

A direct first sentence, followed by a useful detail.

Five and three mean questions, not minutes.Use a few notes, rather than memorizing a script. The final questions stay familiar, even when the order or wording changes.

Your end-of-day routine

A few notes. Then speak.

Write two or three idea words for each question, then practice all five aloud.

  1. When your main responsibilities are finished, what do you usually do first?
  2. What helps you relax or get your energy back at the end of the day?
  3. What is one thing you try to make time for before you rest?
  4. What do you do differently when you have had a very busy day?
  5. What would you like to change about your end-of-day routine?

Good to know

Before the Lab opens

Can I join the Lab now?

Not yet. The English Speaking Lab is in development, and a launch date has not been announced. Sign up for launch updates . This is an interest list, not a membership or a paid reservation.

Who is the Lab being designed for?

Learners who can use some English but want more regular speaking practice. Clear examples and short notes will help you get started; you can build longer or more precise answers as you grow. You won’t need perfect English to participate.

Will there be live classes?

The core plan is guided weekly challenges, recordings and responses you can work on in your own time. Live sessions at launch have not been confirmed.

What does “Personalized” mean?

You’ll choose one of four real-life situations after completing the General Challenge. This lets you apply the weekly skill to something relevant to you. It does not mean a separately written lesson for every member.

Will Scott give feedback on every recording?

Individual feedback from Scott on every recording is not promised. The design centers on focused peer responses and reflection, with group or selected instructor feedback being planned. Feedback options will be explained before enrollment opens.

Will I have access to every past challenge?

The planned resource window includes the current challenge package and the previous one for catching up. Older official learning resources will rotate out, while existing student recordings and discussion remain visible. Full access details will be provided before enrollment opens.

Is the Lab included with a Udemy course?

The Lab is a separate offering in development. A course purchase does not enroll you in it. Membership details and pricing will be announced before the Lab opens.
