Email attachments: name the file and the next step
Your reader sees a file, but may not know which detail matters. A short sentence can connect the attachment to the reason for your email.
The short answer
Use I have attached + the file name or description. Then add the purpose or a specific request: I have attached the workshop schedule. Could you check your session time?
Name what you sent. Make its purpose clear.
I have attached the schedule identifies the document. Could you check your session time? adds a precise action. If no reply is needed, say that instead: The schedule is attached for your reference; no reply is needed. The attachment sentence does not prove that the file was approved or even successfully attached—check the actual email before sending.

The attached file is a room map. Which sentence identifies it accurately?
I have attached the room map.Name the actual attached document. Meeting minutes are a different file; a link is a different way of sharing it.
The recipient must check their assigned room. Which request is most specific?
Could you check your assigned room on the map?The second request tells the reader exactly what to check. The first is vague; the third asks for a different action.
You are sending a final schedule for information only. No response is needed. Choose the matching ending.
The schedule is attached for your reference; no reply is needed. For your reference explains the informational purpose. Approval and corrections would create tasks you did not intend.
Put it into practice
Give a vague attachment message a purpose
The file is a draft menu. Ask Lina to check the vegetarian choices; do not ask her to approve the whole menu.
Hi Lina, see attached.
See a model answer
Hi Lina, I have attached the draft menu. Could you check the vegetarian choices?
Clear wording preserves the file status and the intended action. It does not invent approval.
A little more clarity
Common questions
A few useful details before you move on.
Is Please find attached wrong?
No. It is a conventional, more formal phrase. I have attached is also natural and direct. With either, identify the document and make the purpose clear.
Please find attached the updated schedule.
What if I send two files?
Name both if that helps the reader distinguish them. You can then say which one needs attention.
I have attached the map and the schedule. Please check the schedule.
Take it into your day
