English for the situations you face.
Support a fictional insights project through data preparation, exploratory analysis, experiments, modeling and visualization. Explain uncertainty, ethics and recommendations to colleagues.
Clarify the decision
Ask what question the analysis should answer and who will use it.
Describe the data
Explain the sample, the measure and a limitation.
Present a pattern
Describe a relationship without turning it into a claim of causation.
Recommend a next step
Connect an action to the evidence and the remaining uncertainty.
Picture one workday.
Two things rise together on a chart.
An original example of the planned learning approach. The workplace and project are fictional.
The situation
A chart shows more support requests on days with more product activity. Your teammate asks whether activity caused the requests.
What you practice
Use is associated with or tends to occur with for a relationship. State what the chart alone cannot establish.
A response to build toward
Higher activity is associated with more support requests in this dataset. The chart alone does not show that activity caused the increase.
Your next step
Describe the pattern and identify a question that needs further analysis.
